Mr Kenward's (very) Brief Biography

John Kenward resides on the South Coast of England, in the vibrant town of Hastings. For his fourteenth birthday his parents gave him a camera, and since then his love for photography has grown to become a passion.

If he sees something interesting, or pleasing to the eye he will endeavour to take a photograph that does it justice. He uses his camera as an artist would use a canvas; and paints with whatever light source is available. Whether it is natural light, or studio light, each has its own place in the scheme of things. He describes his work as an eclectic mix of subjects

John held his first major exhibition in 1997; this was followed by two more in 2004. All were huge successes, and brought him outstanding recognition. He is one of the few local photographers to appear in the book, ‘Hastings Today’ a contemporary celebration of Hastings and St Leonards, UK.

The White Rock Theatre Gallery was home for John’s most recent exhibition in April 2006. It was a huge success, and he is currently in the planning stages of yet another, which will show the work of all artists on this site.

This 1066 Art Gallery (www.1066artgallery.co.uk) web site is John’s “baby”. It’s a showcase of talent from all walks of life, presenting many different styles of art. He’s continually updating its content, and looking for new artists.
